Reservations
Booking a seat.
- How do I make a reservation? What about same-day bookings?
- Reserve online through the form on our homepage, or call 0899 855 101 — every request is confirmed by email or phone before it's final. Same-day requests are welcome; calling directly is the fastest way to confirm a table for today.
- Can an assistant or hotel concierge book on behalf of a guest?
- Yes. The reservation form has a "Booking on behalf of someone else?" section built in — for an assistant, hotel concierge or group organiser. Add the guest's name and phone number there, and Kasen confirms the reservation the same way as any other request.
- Do you have fixed seating times?
- No — there are no fixed seatings. Reserve any time within our hours, 10:30 – 22:00.
- Can I book a single seat at the counter?
- Yes. Kasen's ten-seat counter welcomes parties of any size, including a single guest dining alone — there's no minimum party size. Reserve online or call 0899 855 101, and we'll seat you at the counter alongside the other guests dining that evening.
Private dining
The private room and full-counter buyouts.
- How many guests can the private room seat, and what is the minimum spend?
- The private room seats two to twelve guests, most comfortable with four to eight, with a 10,000,000₫ minimum spend per booking. Couples are welcome to book it too — there's no minimum party size. See private dining.
- Can we reserve the entire counter?
- Yes. The full ten-seat counter can be booked exclusively for your group, priced as ten courses at the menu you choose — from 38,000,000₫ on the Sashimi course. Premium isn't available for a full-counter booking. See the full buyout.
Your visit
What to expect.
- Can dietary restrictions be accommodated?
- Most dietary restrictions can be accommodated. Let us know when you reserve — an allergy, a guest who doesn't eat raw fish, or another preference — so Kim Chu and the counter team can prepare for it ahead of your visit, without disrupting the pace of the omakase for the rest of your table.
- Where is Kasen, and what are the hours?
- Kasen is at 101 Lê Thị Riêng, Phường Bến Thành, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City, open daily from 10:30 to 22:00, with last arrival at 21:30. There are no fixed seating times — reserve any time up to then and be seated right away.
- What is the dress code?
- Kasen has no formal dress code — come as you're comfortable, whether that's smart casual for an evening out or something more relaxed. There's no dress requirement to reserve a seat or be seated at the counter.
- Is parking available?
- Yes. Kasen offers on-site parking for both cars and motorbikes at 101 Lê Thị Riêng, District 1. Staff at the door can help direct you when you arrive, whether you're driving in or riding a motorbike to dinner.
- What languages does the counter team speak?
- The counter team at Kasen speaks English, Vietnamese and Korean. Whichever of those languages you're most comfortable in, you can order, ask questions about a course, or just chat with the team throughout your evening at the counter.
- Can I bring my own wine or sake?
- Yes. Kasen welcomes guests bringing their own wine or sake, and a corkage fee applies. Mention it when you reserve, so the team can prepare the right glassware and have your bottle ready to open the moment you're seated.
- Which payment methods do you accept?
- Kasen accepts all major payment methods, including cash, credit and debit cards, and bank transfer.
About Kasen
The counter, and the people behind it.
- Who leads the counter?
- Kim Chu leads the counter at Kasen, carrying forward the lineage that began at Hiko Sushi in Los Angeles under Shinji Murata. Kim Chu judges each ingredient on its own terms and lets technique serve the fish, course by course, every night. Read more in our story.
- What is the difference between sushi and a sushiya?
- A sushi restaurant serves sushi from a printed menu. A sushiya is different — years of training stand behind a single piece of nigiri, and at Kasen, Kim Chu chooses each course rather than the guest ordering from a list. Read more about sushi vs. sushiya.
- Do you offer gift certificates?
- Yes. Kasen offers gift certificates for purchase, a good option for a birthday, anniversary or any other occasion at the counter. Call 0899 855 101 or message us on WhatsApp or Zalo, and the team will help arrange one for you.
- When did Kasen open?
- Kasen opened in 2018, as Saigon's first omakase counter, carrying forward a philosophy that began at Hiko Sushi in Los Angeles under Shinji Murata and continues today with Kim Chu leading the counter. Read more about that lineage in our story.
